Finding College Student Discounts
posted by FindCollegeCards.comWhen you go to college, there are a lot of things that many students don’t know about, such as student discounts. Did you know that you can save a ton of money on things that you normally buy, just because you’re a student? Let me show you what you can get a discount on, and how to take advantage.
Most of the time, when you want these discounts, all you’re going to need is your student ID, or proof that you’re attending the school. Sometimes, the venue may even take your word on it, but I wouldn’t rely on this.
Sign up for the Student Advantage Card - The first thing that I recommend when it comes to discounts is the Student Advantage Card. This card has a small fee, but the savings are amazing. Just flash your card at the retailers listed with the card, and save up to 50%. You can save on Amtrak, Target.com, Foot Locker, and hundreds more.
Movie Theatres – Just about every large movie theatre chain is going to have a discount for students. These discounts usually get you about $1-$2 off of your ticket price.
Insurance – If you have to buy a car, and insure it, which I’m sure you will have to, make sure you tell them. Many big chain insurers will give you a discount, as well as a discount for the grades you have on your report card.
Airfare – Yes, even as a student, you can save money on your next flight. Sites like StaTravel let you search for flights, and allow you to save on your next trip. This is great for those that live far away from home, and want to travel for the holidays, or summer.
Software - As a college student, you may find that you’re going to have to purchase software. Software packages such as Microsoft Word, and more allow you to save money, while going to school.
The list goes on, but these are a few things that you can save on as a college student. Be sure to check them out, and the next time you make a purchase doing one of the above, show your ID and save!
