Finally, graduating college is right around the corner.  We’ve been waiting for this moment forever it seems like.  All our schooling is done, and we are about to graduate college.  Now, the next big thing is finding the job we’ve been working so hard for.  This can be a little intimidating, but really you should be excited.  There are several, great job opportunities out there for you.  If you’re looking to increase your chances of getting hired, consider a few of these tips!

Don’t wait – You definitely don’t want to wait until the last minute to get things going.  Instead, you want to be prepared, and already start looking for jobs before you graduate.

Internship – An internship is great because you will see what your job will be like first hand.  This may also improve your chances of getting a job once you graduate.

Be known – If you have something to say about yourself, that will help you.  Whether you volunteer, were the captain of a sports team, were in student counsel, etc.  This tends to help student land a job faster.

Job fairs – Job fairs are there for a reason, to help you find a job.  Try attending one of these, and putting in several applications to different places!

Good impression – If you can make a good impression during your interview you have a better chance of landing the job.  Dress nicely, tell them about yourself, don’t be shy, make yourself come across as confident, and not to mention flexible.

Resume – You also want to have a great resume.  If you can make a nice one of these, and learn how to create one, you’re already one step ahead.  Some college students don’t realize how powerful these things are and never make one.   So, list all the great things about yourself!

Finding a job after college can be challenging for some college students.  Although, if you work hard at it, don’t give up, and have patience you will increase your chances of getting a job.  So, start your planning now, be prepared, and go over these tips to help you land your dream job!
