It happens to a lot of us, we are dating someone in high school, and then college comes around.  Then the two of you may find that you want to go to different colleges.  This time is tough because you want to stay together, but you know the distance may be hard.  A lot of couples go through this.  If you’re looking for tips on how to make it last, continue reading below.

Daily – First of all, it is important that you at least communicate daily.  You can simply send text messages throughout the day, e-mail each other, talk on facebook, etc.  There are several different ways to keep in contact.  Just hearing their voice or getting their messages will be enough to make you smile.

Weekends – You can always make the attempt to see each other on the weekends.  Drive home if you can, or meet each other half way.  If your relationship is worth it, it should be worth the trip.

Is it worth it? - Sometimes you will question yourself if it’s worth it.  Do you think it is?  Is this whole thing too hard? Do you worry more about them then enjoy the fact that you’re still together?  Maybe it is time to move on, or maybe you can work things out.

How much longer? – How much longer is this distance going to take place?  Four years maybe very hard to keep this going, but if it’s just a few months or a year, you may be able to get through it.

Think positive – You should always think positive in every situation that you’re in.  Having a positive attitude will get you far in life, and far with your relationship.  If you trust them, don’t have to worry about them, and there is still a spark, you’ve found the one.  It all depends on whether the person is  worth it!

Dating a person that goes to a different college than you is extremely tough.  You’re not with them like you wish you were, and the time frame seems like it’s taking forever.  Although, if the two of you were meant to be you will last and things will work themselves out!
