Laziness – A lot of students become lazy when they first start college. They are shocked by the amounts of studying, homework and class time combined. When someone doesn’t have the motivation to do something they will often become lazy and set it aside, something you cannot do when you’re in college.
Too busy - College students today aren’t making time for school. They are either working too much (yes, it needs to be done but can be limited), or they’re constantly hanging out with friends, partying or playing video games. When in college you need to make sacrifices that better for school not your social life.
Never show – It is so easy to sleep in, do something more fun and not show up to class at all. Although, what are you paying money for then? Why do you pay the professor to teach you and take the day off? College students are known to take days off and not even show up to class. Don’t make this a habit or you may miss out on a test, fail due to absences or really get behind quickly.
No studying - Studying is something that has to be done no matter how much you think you may know about the subject. Always give yourself time to review the chapters and really study when you know you have an exam coming up. A tip that may help you will really do well on tests is studying old tests, quizzes and lecture notes. These are things professors stress for a reason because they will be on your test!
Unhealthy lifestyle – It is also common for students to not get enough sleep, eat unhealthy diets (mostly fast food because they’re always in a hurry), party too much and not get enough exercise. This is something that needs to stop so you can have better health and do better in college. To do well in school you MUST have a healthy lifestyle.
As you can see there are many things that are keeping college students from succeeding. It is important to discipline yourself right from the beginning and always have a positive attitude.
