Dorm room storageNo matter what college you attend, you’re going to find that you’re always going to need storage, because let’s face it, if you have a roommate, and your room is the size of a bathroom, there’s not much room.  Thankfully, if you do have a lot of stuff to store, there are some options out there that should fit your needs.

Look for local storage places

Every town has a storage place.  Check online to see what places in your area have storage garages that you can rent out.  If you live in a bigger town, you’ll find that there are a lot more options, so make sure that you compare prices.  If you’re in a smaller town, you may find that there are no options at all.

Check with your college

Before you go out and purchase a garage, you may want to check with your college.  Many campuses out there have on campus storage that you can use, if you’re a college student.  Check with the local office to see what they have in store for you, and how much it’s going to cost you.

Ask friends or family

I don’t know how much stuff you have to store, but you may want to check with your friends or family to see if they have any room.  If some of them do, you may want to pay them a few dollars each month for letting them store it for you.  Remember, your bedroom isn’t going to be as big as the dorm room you’re going to be in, so you’ll want to pack accordingly.

You can always sell

If you really don’t need some of the stuff, and it’s just taking up a lot of space, you may just want to sell it on websites like Ebay and Craigslist.  It’s always nice to get money as a college student anyways.  Just because you’re not using it, doesn’t mean someone else won’t.

Try some of these options when you want to store some of your goods.  Make sure that you compare prices to see what’s best for you.  We all know that college students aren’t loaded with money, and this is why it’s important that you do your homework.
