Instead of buying your text book for a very high price, did you know that you can simply rent your textbook instead?  Renting textbooks today has been a huge craze on many college campuses simply because of the convenience and the pricing factor.  With service like Chegg, they will allow you to search out a textbook and will give you a price on how much it will cost to rent.  Depending on how long you need it, will depend on how much the price is.

Here’s how the textbook renting process works –

When you go to a website like Chegg, you’ll instantly be taken to the homepage.  From here, you’ll want to search for ISBN, title, or author.  Once you put that into your search, you’ll be taken to a results page.  When you’re on the results page, simply click on the title of the book you want to rent.

Once you’re on the book page, you can glance to the left and it will ask you how long you would like to rent the book for.  Depending on how long you need it will determine the price.  If you want to own the book, they do offer very competitive prices as well for new and used books.  Just by looking at the prices alone, you’ll soon realize that you can save up to 50% just by renting.

When you finally choose what you want to do, click on the term.  When you click on the term, it will tell you when the book is due back.  If it sounds right to you, click “add to cart”.  Make sure that you return the book on time or you’ll receive a 25% late fee.

When the term is finally over and it’s time to return the book, simply log into your account and tell the company what book you’d like to return.  Follow the prompts and mail back the book with your return postage that was supplied by them.

Renting college textbooks is a great way to save and if you’re looking to do it, I highly recommend you check out Chegg, seeing they are one of the best companies online that deal with renting textbooks.  Also, make sure you explore all options when renting because sometimes it may be cheaper to buy used or even new.

As a college student it may be hard to find some extra spending money for the holidays.  If you have a lot of people to buy for and you’re stuck on an idea on what to get them, don’t worry!  Christmas shopping can be extremely hard for some people, especially dads.  Often people don’t give a hint on what they want, say they “don’t want” a Christmas present, and every other excuse to not give you an idea.  If you’re really stuck and don’t know what to give as a Christmas present, continue to read below for some help.

Interests - First you’re going to want to take a look at the person and think of their interests.  What does that person like to do in their free time?  Do they have a certain hobby that they love like a certain sport?  Take a look at their hobbies and interests and that will easily get you thinking.

Personality - Next, you’re going to want to take a look at their personality.  Do they like to go out a lot and have fun? If so, you may want to get them a gift certificate to a certain place they love going to.  Or are they more on the quiet side and don’t go out often?  If so, think about certain books they may like, DVDs, CDs, look at their personality.  Personality plays a big role in what to get them.

Budget - Next once you have an idea, you’re going to want to ask yourself what is the budget for them?  Do you want to go all out or spend just a little bit on them?  Think of your budget and relate items in that budget frame to what you want to get them.

Search - Another way to find a great Christmas present is to go into their favorite stores yourself.  So if you’re at the mall, stop by their favorite stores and you’ll be able to find something they like for sure.  If you don’t know their favorite store simply go online to websites like www.amazon.com.  When you get to the website, search for an interest of things they like.  For example, if you’re shopping for your dad and he likes car supplies, type in Automotive.  It will give you every automotive item imaginable!

Although Christmas shopping may be a little tough for some people, there are always ways to come up with getting ideas.  If you’re stuck on what to get someone this year, consider the tips listed above for more help!

College isn’t easy.  If it was, everyone would be doing it and we all would be making $250,000 a year, right?  Well, if you work hard enough in college, get good grades, and work your way to the top in the corporate world or even on your own, these numbers can be a piece a pie.

One of the most common questions that are asked by college students before they even attend college is “How do I get good grades in college?”  That question is very easy to answer.  Getting good grades come by how hard you work.  Look back at your high school days, how hard did you work to get those good grades?  The harder you work, the better your report card looks.  Just like in life, the harder you work, the more money you’ll most likely make.  I know it’s not always the case but most of the time it is.

I’ve compiled a small list of tips you can use to improve your chances of getting better grades in school.  Following these tips won’t guarantee you a better grade but will increase your chances.

Always go to class.  Don’t be the bum that always skips just for the sake of skipping.  Instead, have the mindset that you’re going to attend class.  You’re paying for these classes after all!  If you fail, it’s like throwing your money away.  Always make sure you attend every class unless you’re deathly ill.

Get to know your class.  The first day you’re in class, get to know your professor and classmates.  If you become friends with a few, this will allow you to meet up after class and have a study and homework partner.  Two brains are always better than your own.  It never hurts to meet up with others, there are people in your class that want to find a study partner as well!

Be prepared.  Every time you attend class, make sure you have all the things you need.  From your notebook, pencil to your textbook.  If you come to class without any of this, it will be awfully hard to learn in the class without the right resources.  If you need to, keep your stuff in a bag in your car or dorm so it’s always accessible if you forget it.

Pay attention.  As simple as this sounds, most students can’t comprehend this.  When you’re in class, make sure that you’re paying attention to everything your college professor is saying.  Instead of daydreaming or text messaging your friends, enjoy the class and learn all about what your professor is telling you.

Take notes.  Note taking is a very important part of your college career.  The more notes you take, the better you’re going to do.  Notes are important because when you leave the class at the end of the day and you’re confused about something, you can simply reference back to your notes.

Getting good grades in college isn’t hard at all.  It’s just going to take a lot of work on your part.  As long as you’re not lazy, you do your work and you pay attention, you’re not going to have a problem at all when it comes to getting that A in class.

Writing an essay for college can be tough especially when you have to avoid plagiarism.  Some professors are very strict on these rules but others aren’t as strict but regardless, you need to know how college professors find out how you’re using plagiarism.

With the Internet how it is today, it’s not hard to find an essay already posted online or a service that will provide work for you for a fee.  While 90% of the time, services work, copying something from the Internet usually never works.  Here are some ways teachers find out how you’re using plagiarism.

Checking a website - There are a few free tools out there that you can use that a majority of the teaching staff out there uses.  Websites like PlagiarismChecker.com and PlagiarismDetect.com are both free services you can use to see if your essay passes the test.  When you hand in your paper, your teacher is mostly likely going to use these tools.  Many teachers use this tool and you should too!  Even if you’re writing a honest paper, you could still get caught for using plagiarism.

Using paid services - Like the websites I mentioned above, there are some sites you won’t be able to access unless you’re going to want to pay a fee.  Many colleges pay for a fee on big services such as TurnItIn.com.  These services will scour the web and look for anything that screams plagiarism with your college paper.  If you’re willing to dish out the cash, you can get into this paid service.

Using a simple search engine - A search engine like Google is a lot more powerful than you think.  A teacher can simply take a quote from your paper and throw it in Google.  Within the results, your teacher will be able to see where that quote came from, if it did come from somewhere.  If you want to use Google, simply do a search with quotations wrapped around your search.

Asking you questions- If the teacher suspects you’ve used a service to write your paper, your teacher may ask you questions regarding your paper.  A lot of the times, when a student purchases an essay, he/she won’t even bother to read it.  So, when the teacher asks some questions, the student is clueless and the teacher is able to nab you in the act.  Always make sure you write your own paper!  Buying a service will just hurt you in the long run.

With the Internet today, it’s very hard for a student to plagiarize.  It’s important that even if you write an honest paper that you use some of these services.  Sometimes, a student will not realize that he/she is plagiarizing.  As long as you run some of these websites, you should be okay.  If you do quote something or need to cite it, always make sure you do, it’s the safest thing to do to avoid that F.
