Carpooling vs. Driving to College
posted by FindCollegeCards.com
As a college student, we often have a tight budget. Not only do we have a tight budget but we usually have a busy schedule. Therefore that leaves us little time to work a part-time/full-time job because of our busy college life. We spend a lot of time working on homework, going to class, etc. We wish we had more money, but that’s why we’re going to college. Anyway that we can save money in college, is something we want to know about. So, have you ever thought about carpooling? Find out what the advantages of carpooling, and driving are!
Pros and Cons of Carpooling and Driving to College:
Driving:
- When we drive to college it is just us to worry about. We don’t have to wait around or make others wait for us.
- It may be more convenient to just drive to school without having to pick someone up/drop them off.
- Although driving may be convenient, it also costs us more money.
- This adds more miles on our vehicle.
- The more we drive our car the more money we’re going to put into it.
- Everyone driving is bad for the environment.
Carpooling:
- Carpooling may not be as convenient because now we have to drive someone around with us.
- If we’re running late, we might make someone else late (the one you’re carpooling with.)
- If we’re counting on someone to take us to class they may make us late.
- Carpooling can save a ton of money for the both of you.
- If you drive one semester, and someone else drives the next, you’ve saved an entire semester worth on gas – that equals a lot of money!
- You’re doing better for the environment!
- It can be a great way to spend time with your friends/family.
Carpooling to college is a great thing. There are much advantages than to driving alone. Saving money is the biggest reason. If we can save an entire semester’s worth of gas by alternating each semester you may save hundreds! College students are looking for every way to save, and if that’s not saving, I don’t know what is!
