Avoiding Procrastination in College
posted by FindCollegeCards.comWhen we start the college life we realize how many opportunities we have, and how flexible our schedules can be. With having such a convenient schedule, it is easy for college students to procrastinate. We often put work, friends, parties, and everything else before our homework and studying. This can be okay sometimes, but really it can start to hurt our grades and create a schedule that we don’t want to make a habit. If you want to make sure you don’t get into the habit of procrastinating, continue reading below on how to avoid it!
Organize – If you start now by organizing a good schedule for yourself, you will realize how much easier your life and college can be. So start now by organizing your life, and by making certain days for certain things.
Each day – If you work on your homework or study a little bit each day (even for an hour), your life will be much easier. You don’t want to overload yourself with a ton of work that is due the next day when you haven’t even started yet. So, make it a habit to work on it a little bit each day. This is good because if you don’t you will feel guilty.
Realize – Just realize why you’re procrastinating. It sounds silly if you say “I don’t want to” because you’re going to anyway so you might as well do it now. Realize that you’re not going to get around it if you wait or if you do it now.
The feeling – We hate the feeling we get when we know we have a ton of homework. We can’t enjoy ourselves fully if we’re with friends or family because in the back of our head something is saying “don’t forget about your homework.”
More flexible – If you do your homework a little bit each day you will be much more flexible. You can hang out with your friends when you want, do what you want when you want, and have the rest of the day to enjoy because you got the worst part out of the way.
Avoiding procrastination in college is easy to do if you consider a few of these tips. Your life will be much easier, and you will be able to enjoy college much better! So stop procrastinating, and hit the books right now!
