Top careers for 20102010 is upon us and whether you’re about to start college, or maybe you’re graduating with a degree, I wanted to point out some careers that you will want to look into this 2010.  There are millions of jobs out there and no matter what the media says, you’re always going to find a job with an education.

The 7 Careers in High Demand for 2010

  • Database Admin: This job requires a degree in networking and has shown that over the past few years, it has grown by more than 20%.  This job is responsible for data resources, and database management.
  • Freelance Writing: Journalism may seem like a career that went down the tubes, but what you’re going to find out is that as the media goes more mainstream online, the need for freelancers is going to sky rocket.
  • Pharmacist: People are always going to be sick and it’s one career that you’re going to find out that won’t be able to be outsourced.  This career will obviously require a degree and you’ll be in charge of filling prescription orders from Doctor offices.
  • Customer Service Reps: The need for anything retail will always be around and what you’re going to find out is that while this career isn’t going to necessarily require a degree, they are always going to be around.
  • Computer Engineering: Technology is the wave of the future and if you’re getting into this career, you’re definitely getting into a good one.  A computer engineer is responsible for developing, testing, and evaluating software packages.
  • Financial Advisor: Since money will always be around, people are always going to want to know how to grow it.  An Advisor will assist others with their retirement planning and will show how to properly grow your money.
  • Physical Therapist: A Physical Therapist will help those in need of rehab after an accident, injury, or any other type of illness.  The number of these jobs have been increasing steadily since 2006.  A PT can expect to make anywhere from $40,000 – $50,000 a year.

Careers always change, but there are some fields that you can always assume that you’re going to be safe in.  When you think of careers that are high in demand, you have to think of those that can’t be outsourced, and won’t go away soon.  For example, health care, restaurants, etc can’t go anywhere.

Research a few of these jobs and see which one may float your boat.  Remember, there are a million other opportunities out there, so don’t just focus on these!
