College orientation is around the corner and if you haven’t attended something like this before, you’re going to find that it’s packed full of information, so I would recommend that you get your money worth in college and take advantage of it.

Long gone are the High School days where you didn’t give a crap.  You need to take college seriously because this is your future and let’s not forget that you’re paying for it.

I wanted to give you some tips that you can use when you’re attending college orientation.  Just about every college runs it the same way.

#1 You’re just like everyone else

If you’re feeling nervous, that’s okay!  You’re going to fit in quite nicely because what you’re going to find out is that everyone else in the room is going to experience this for the first time.  This is a great time to strike up some conversations and meet new people.

#2 Get organized

At most orientations, you’re going to get a checklist of the things that you’re going to get done.  From getting your student ID to getting an email with your school address.  Make sure that you complete all of these tasks, as its going to make it a lot easier for you.

#3 You may have to take your exams

To determine where you stand in classes such as English, Math, and more, you may find that you will have to take placement exams.  Make sure that you take these if they are offering them during your orientation.  It’s a great way to skip on classes that you shouldn’t be taking in the first place.

#4 Ask the questions you have

At an orientation, you’re going to find that you will be able to meet with all professionals from all around the college.  If you have any questions in regard to the school, you’re going to want to ask them now.  This is your chance to ask them whatever you may have your mind and get an answer.  Once you start up school, you may find that its going to take a little longer to get an answer.

#5 Sit back and absorb

It isn’t a time to goof off and complain, because trust me, the people around you don’t want to hear about things like this.  Take notes and be happy that in your spot where you’re at today.  Fold away your notes and keep them for future reference.
