We all hear how the college life is so much different than the high school life, but we’re not too sure as to why.  When experiencing something for the first time, we want to be prepared as much as possible, especially when it comes to something like college.

If you’re looking to learn what college will be like and want some pointers on how you can start preparing now, continue reading below!

3 Ways you can Prepare for College:

Atmosphere:  The atmosphere of a college class is much different than high school.  There are people of all different ages, people looking to go into different fields and the count of the class can be anywhere from 30-500+.  It all depends on which type of school you go to, but a community college is smaller and a university has the bigger classes.

Expenses:  The expenses of college are very high.  Everything from registering for classes to the books you need to buy can sometimes be outrageous.  Therefore it is a good idea to start applying for scholarships of any kind.  A lot of college students also get a student credit card to start building a good credit score and to help them out with purchasing items.  Although, if you get a credit card remember it is important to pay the balance off in full each month to avoid interest and to avoid getting yourself into unwanted debt.

Maturity:  Although there are still a lot of immature people in college, it is important to distance yourself from them and to remember why you’re there – to learn.  Make friends with people that are serious about getting good grades, and make good relationships with your professors.

Preparing yourself for college isn’t hard to do.  Once the first week is over it will feel like high school did, comfortable and something you’ve been doing forever.  So, get prepared, learn where all your classes are ahead of time and make friends with those that are on the same page as you!
