3 Ways to Organize Your Dorm Room in College
posted by FindCollegeCards.comOnce we get to college and in our dorm room for the first time, we realize just how small the space can be. There isn’t much room for a lot of things, and getting disorganized isn’t too hard to do. When we’re in college we need to make sure we really take care of our belongings, and stay organized. The people to get the best grades are usually the neatest and most organized people out of the bunch.
Getting organized is an important thing to do, and can be done with the help of a few of these tips.
Your space – First of all, you should make sure that all of your items are in your space and not your room mates. If you imagine an imaginary line down the middle of the room, you will be able to realize where your stuff should be and where it shouldn’t be. You don’t want to mix up your guy’s stuff.
School work – You should also have a place just for your school work. Get a folder or binder for each class and keep it organized. Organizing your work subject by subject will make things much easier. Also, get a box for all of your old papers that you don’t need on you, but should be kept. Then put these in a binder to keep things organized.
Finding a place for your school work will make things much easier if you need to refer to something or go back to old papers for help.
Put away – Try to make sure you put everything away that you’re not using. This means, if you have clothes on the floor, your books on the table, and pictures on your bed and you’re not using them, put them where they belong. Find a place for everything that you own, and try to keep it there if you’re not using them.
I’ve noticed that when I try to study in a messy room, I get distracted because there is stuff all over the place when it should be put away.
Organizing your dorm room in college is very important. You can come back to your room and have it be clean, you will be able to focus more when you’re studying, and you will be able to find the items that you need because they’ll be in the correct spot. So, stop what you’re doing and start cleaning and organizing your room now!
