3 Tips for College Welcome Week

Good Grades
One option for a college student is to succeed academically and get good grades. In order to do this you must be willing to spend a lot of time reading and recopying notes you missed in class. Some other things getting good grades require is late nights of banging out projects and reports that are due at 8:00 am the next morning. Instead of going out to see friends or family, you must lock yourself away in your room to prepare for the quiz, test, midterm or final the following week by making note cards to study for four hours a day. If you want to be on the Dean’s List, be prepared to spend all your time writing, reading and studying.
Enough Sleep
For some people, college is a time for sleep. There are no parents around to wake you up at 7:00 am, and there are no principals calling home wondering why it’s 9:00 am and you haven’t come to school yet. Before college, you are forced to go to school and obey your parental figures and after college you must go out into the “real world” and get a job that requires you to be up early. If you don’t come to work on time, you don’t get that valuable paycheck at the end of the week. Because of this many college students have come to the realization that this is their last chance to sleep in and enjoy getting as much sleep as possible. Think there is time for studying or hanging out with friends late at night? No way! This is all valuable sleep time being wasted away in the eyes of a trained sleeper.
Social Life
And last, but certainly not least, is the life of the college social butterfly. In order to have a good social life in college you must be able to attend every hip party, every rival sporting event and every charitable function. This leaves no time for studying or sleep, friends and activities will take up all of your time not spent in the classroom. If you love to be with people and help people, then this is the option for you. Having a good social life will leave you feeling popular, cool and on top of your game. Although your grades and sleep time may suffer, as a bonus the extracurricular activities section of your resume will be filled to the brink!
