You’re going to soon find out that college dorm rooms aren’t the biggest rooms in the world.  Since you’re going to have to cram so much into a little space with another roommate, it’s essential that you look into items that are created for smaller rooms, such as a dorm.

Since there’s a good chance that you’re going to be writing, as well as using your laptop / computer at night, you’re going to find that you’re going to need light.  Since you probably won’t want to turn the whole light in the room on at 1 in the morning, you’re going to want to consider some of the these smaller lamps listed below that are designed for desks.

Sunlight Lamp ($40) - This 150 watt based lap consumes very little energy, is very stylish, and will look great on just about any desk out there.  You will also find that it comes equipped with a 2 years manufacturer’s warranty.

Glob 5210801 ($15) – If you’re looking for a lamp that is a little under $20, this lamp created by Globe Electric is 14 inches in height, is energy star efficient, and only requires a 13W max lit bulb.

Normande Lighting LED Desk Lamp ($40) - This LED based lamp has a great looking, unique design, and barely takes up space on a desk.  Made of brushed steel finish, as well as comes equipped with a toggle switch.

Grandrich ES-201 ($50) - This desk lamp created by Grandrich is highly rated online, and is great for just about any table / desk.  It uses a fluorescent lamp, it’s 26 inches tall, and you can twist and turn the lamp as it has an adjustable gooseneck.

Halotech II Halogen Lamp ($75) - If you have a higher budget, you will find that this Halotech based lamp may be the one that you will want to consider.  This lamp uses one energy efficient 35 watt bulb, has an adjustable neck, as well as a sturdy, metal construction finish.

While there are a lot of lamps on the market, these are some that I have found online that have high reviews.  As you can see, you can get one for a little less than $40.  Consider a few of these, as they will fit great in any dorm room.

All of us have different studying habits and there are a lot of factors to take into consideration in able for us to study well and grasp the topics we want to know. Most often than not, things around us, especially college students, contribute well to our effectiveness in studying.

Aside from your room, your table does have an influence in your studies. Question now, what table is the best for you?

Well, the answer to this question definitely lies on your personality. If you are you are that kind of nerdy guy who has a lot of books always on your side, table with shelves is the best one for you. If you are some kind of that genius one who does not need anymore a ton of books, then you can opt to pick just a plain table.

Another thing which is likewise to take into consideration is that your table must be fitting to your likes, somewhat which will make you feel comfortable and at ease while you are studying. Do not select a table with built in mirror as this will be a distraction while you are taking up your lessons on your desk. Select a table with cabinets for you to have some spaces for your other stuffs, so that you will not place the unnecessary things on your desk.

Likewise pick a table which does not look so gloomy at all. Because, instead of studying you will end up sleeping on your desk as the case may be. Do not also select a super bright colored table as this will not be good to your eyes.

As to the size, choose a table which will be suited to your room. If your room is small, then select a not-so-big table. You wouldn’t want to end up with your room so crowded to the extent that you cannot move comfortably.

The above statements are just insights of what table will be suited for a college student like you. At the end of the day, it is still your decision of what table will be best for you.

To find some of the best tables for your dorm, you may want to look at this list.

Now, I don’t condone drinking on campus for those under age, but what you’re going to find is that there are a lot of students that are on campus that are over the age of 21.  Now, if you’re going to throw a party, or have a bunch of friends over, there’s a good chance that you’re going to want to have some beer flowing around.  With that being said, you’re going to want to consider purchasing a Kegerator, or renting one.

The reason that you should consider purchasing one is because you will find that you can use this for years on end.  If you go in with a few of your college roommates, you shouldn’t have to pay more than $90 each.  Listed below are a few kegerators that you may want to consider if thinking about purchasing one.

#4 Krups B100 - If you want something that is small, but under $100, then this is the one to consider for your college apartment.  It keeps the beer at a nice temperature of 37 degress as well as engineered to work exclusively with Heineken, as well as other ales.

#5 Sanyo BC1206The last on the list is made by Sanyo, and is highly rated online.   What you’re going to find is that this one is probably the highest priced on the list.  Comes with a Sankey keg tapper, a pressure gauge, as well as draft arm and more.  This one easily runs around $650+

While you’re going to find that while the prices are high, you may want to consider talking with a local liquor store to see if you can rent one, if you don’t want to invest into purchasing one.

If you’re thinking about taking Japanese in college, or you just want to learn more about the culture, or learn the language so that you’re fluent, you’re probably wondering what colleges out there are going to have the best programs for yourself.

Upon doing some research online, I came up with a simple list of the best colleges to consider if you’re thinking about majoring in Japanese, or if you’re serious about learning it.

Factors to consider when choosing your college:

The reviews on the courses - Before you look into the college, you’re going to want to look into what other students thought about the class, as well as get some information in regards to the college to see what they are going to teach you with your major.  You will find that many colleges have courses that vary.

The location - If you really want to get a feel for Japanese, you may want to consider going to a college that is physically located in Japan.  While a lot of us can’t afford this, the next thing that you will want to look into is what is near by.  For example, a place such as UCLA has a few small towns in the area that has a huge Japanese presence.

The courses you’ll take - Look into the what kind of courses that you’re going to take.  What you will find is that many colleges are going to vary.  Are there are going to be trips?  Are some of the courses hand on?  These are all things to consider.

With that being said, here are some of the colleges that you will want to look into, if you’re wanting to consider a Japanese major, or courses in general.

  • Duke
  • Middlebury College
  • U.C. Berkely
  • University of North Carolina
