Do you know someone that will be graduating college this year?  If so, be prepared to give them a great gift.  This is a very exciting time in their life simply because they feel accomplished, overwhelmed with joy and they can finally move on with their life.  Although, you may be wondering what they would even like as a graduation gift.  Continue reading below for some great ideas!

Best College Graduation Gifts:

Money:  I think money is the best gift you can ever get.  Your college grad most likely needs money for their future house, car payment to pay off student loans, etc.  They most likely need money more than anything!  This may seem so typical but they will appreciate it, trust me!

ScrapbookIf you’re really close to your grad you may want to put together a scrapbook for them.  Do some pages over the years and bring back a lot of great memories.  This is very meaningful and will be something they will hold onto forever.

Supplies:  If you know that they’re moving into a house soon, getting their job soon or need some supplies get them what they need.  For example, a house get them home supplies like kitchenware, decorations of gift cards to makeover their home.  Or perhaps they are getting a teaching job, get them a bunch of things to decorate their future classroom.  Always think of what they will need.

Entertainment:  If your grad loves video games, wants a new TV, or has been dieing to get something like an MP3 player, get them something fun!  They’ve worked so hard that it’s time they enjoy the things they want instead of need sometimes.

Camera:  If they don’t have a nice digital camera already be sure to get them one.  They will have so many fun memories ahead of them that they will want to capture.  You definitely don’t want to go without a camera or a video camera!

Gift cards:  Think of your grad’s favorite stores and get them a nice gift card.  Whether they need a new wardrobe for their job and can use a clothing store gift card, need homegood supplies or you want to treat them to something fun like a Best Buy gift card, they will enjoy it!

There are so many things you can get your grad.  Think of what you’d like, what they need and what will help them out the most.  For some ideas, consider the ones above!

Once we graduate high school we’re extremely excited!  We’re now adults and have a more free lifestyle.  The only thing that may be somewhat of a downer is now going to college for another 4+ years.  We finally feel like we’re done and have even more to complete.  If you are anxious to get out of college as soon as you can and want to graduate earlier than your friends you may want to consider a few of these tips.

How to Graduate College Faster:

Attitude:  First of all, you need to go into college with a good attitude.  If you feel like you’re going to do great and go in knowing you’ll graduate sooner than later you will!

Counselor:  I can’t stress this enough – go see a counselor!  Most college students think they know which classes to take and end up wasting their time and money.  Before college even starts make sure you get the recommended classes from a counselor.  They will give you a syllabus and tell you what you have to take and what you can skip.  The more classes you take that you need the sooner you’ll graduate.

Full effort:  If you want to graduate, you will need to do more than full-time most likely.  So, maybe working a part-time job is something that shouldn’t even be considered.  I would highly recommend that you focus on school and only school.  Not to mention, you need to make sure you get a C or higher in your classes or you may have to waste time and retake them.

Summer:  It is recommended that you take summer classes if you want to graduate early.  I would take three classes each summer and be disciplined.  Get your work done earlier in the day and set up a schedule for yourself so that way you can still enjoy the nice summer months!

There are a few things you can do if you’re looking to graduate from college faster.  If you’re serious about it, I would start by considering these tips above!

In college there are a lot of things you’ll want to buy and a lot of things you really don’t need.  Although, one thing I wouldn’t want to skip out on is a voice recorder.  Voice recorders are great and can be super beneficial to many people including college students.  So, why should you consider a voice recorder for your college years and classes?  Continue reading below to find out.

Interested in getting a voice recorder for your college classes?  If so, check out the Top 3 Voice Recorders for College Students.

The Benefits of a Voice Recorder in College:

Back up:  First of all, when a college professor is lecturing we cannot stay focused for the entire thing.  They say that our attention span is half our age in minutes.  Therefore, if you’re only 20 years old you’re only going to be able to listen for up to 10 minutes at a time.

They are so great because you can listen to the whole lecture again if you’d like, rewind to a certain part that you missed or use this as a study device  the night before an exam.

Dates:  Our professors are always giving us the dates things are due, when exams are, when class is canceled, etc.  You can always go back on your recorder and re-listen to these dates if you’re confused or want to double check something.  Once you have that cleared it’s best you write it down in your agenda.

Notes:  If you don’t want to take notes in class but instead pay attention fully, use a recorder!  It’s hard to take notes and listen to what the professor is saying that second and to remember what they said to take the notes.  At the end of the day, you can replay and do an outline of all the important notes.

Help someone out:  If you had a friend that was gone and missed class you can let them listen to your recorder.  Or, if you know you’re not going to be in class that day you can give it to a friend so that way you can listen to what your professor said when you were gone.

Back track:  There always comes that time when you swear your professor said something in class and they deny it.  Whether it was an important date, the definition of the term you’re learning or perhaps the assignment.  You can always back track and prove to your professor they said it if you have proof.  This is great for exams if they marked something wrong that they said was right.

As you can see, there are several times when a voice recorder comes in handy.  They are highly recommended, pretty cheap and are a great investment!

College is a very expensive and life changing  experience.  You slowly start to see yourself grow up and become more of an adult and before you know it you will have a career that you’re happy with and working for years to come.  Although college is great, the biggest complaint has to be the price.  Between tuition, parking costs, books and everything in between we easily spend more in college than any other time.

If you’re looking to save a few bucks in college be sure to consider this tip below.  Listed below we have the things you don’t need in college even though you may think you do.

What You Don’t Need Going Away to College:

  • The first thing you don’t need in college is a car.  If you are going away, live in a dorm and live far away from home what do you need a car for?  Yes, it is nice to go out and do stuff sometimes but the majority of students don’t have a car.  The reasons are because we rarely come home, drive and paying for parking is very expensive.
  • If you live in a dorm room don’t get cable TV.  This is totally unnecessary and another expense that you’ll be paying for.  With the Internet these days we don’t need cable TV, especially if we rarely watch it.
  • Do you have some friends in your classes?  If so, don’t get textbooks.  You can either rent textbooks online, or study with a friend.  Sharing the cost between the books is the best way to go.  Not to mention, most friends study together anyways.
  • It is a good idea to have a computer in college but you don’t need a desktop and a laptop both at college.  Choose one of the other.
  • A lot of college students bring so much stuff from home.  Whether it’s decorations they had in their room, their whole collection of CDs, or large items that take up a lot of space.  What you need to know is that your dorm is small so don’t bring very much.  An overabundance of things is totally unnecessary.
  • Also, don’t feel like you need to impress anyone.  You don’t need those cute clothes, that new iPod that just came out, the nicest electronics and everything else in between.  College students are usually poor so don’t feel bad if you don’t have the best of the best like others “say” and “act” like they do.  Remember, you’re there to learn.

College is a very expensive time.  So, be sure to only buy what you need and avoid all the unnecessary expenses.  Between buying alcohol each week and cable TV you’re already spending more than you need to.  Be smart and only get the items you need in college.
