13 Ways College Students Can Boost Their Productivity
posted by FindCollegeCards.comCollege is all about productivity, and if you can focus, or get on the right path, you’re going to find that college is going to be more of a rocky road, rather than a well laid out path. I can’t tell you how many students that I’ve talked with that just don’t care about college. I don’t get the point of going to school, if you’re going to pay, and not try! I guess that’s just one of life’s unsolved problems.
Whether you’re going to college, or maybe you’re not, these tips will help just about anyone boost their productivity. With a little effort, and motivation, you will find that anything is possible.
A to-do list: I write one of these every day with my work. If you don’t have a plan for the day, you won’t be on the path already. Write down the tasks that you want to complete, and cross off each one, each time you do one.
Set a time: Let’s say that one of your tasks is to take out the trash. This isn’t going to take you 1 hour, but instead only 10 – 15 minutes. When you write down your list, also make sure that you have a time in mind next to each goal.
Love your class: In order to be productive with your homework, and other things, try to at least love your work, or class. If you’re going to be negative, it’s going to be hard.
Reward yourself: Put a carrot at the end of a stick, and reward yourself every time you get something done. If you’re like me, I love to watch movies, and such. Just tell yourself you can’t do it until X is done.
Watch your diet: Your diet will affect your mind, and energy. If you’re not getting enough vitamins, and that in your system, you may find that you’re going to feel awfully lazy.
Get sleep: You can’t do much on 5 hours of sleep. Instead, just like your diet, work out a sleeping schedule as well. Make sure you get at least 8 hours.
Exercise: This one is common sense, yet many people don’t do it. Work on running, lifting weights, and making your body feel good.
Build a habit: If you continue to do something each and every day for a month, it will develop into a habit. There are good, and bad habits. Make sure that you force yourself to do something, so that you can get accustomed to doing it.
Cut the distractions: You can’t study, and do homework while you’re watching TV. Instead, work in a quiet room, or head to the library, where you can get a lot done.
Get help: Instead of sitting on a problem for 1 hour, why don’t you consider a tutor? There are people out there that are willing to help, go find them!
Share notes: You may think that you’re taking notes, by try online notes websites, or meet with other people in your class, where you can share notes to speed up your studying.
Speed it up: You know when you’re doing something slow. Learn how to build up speed, and get things done in a heartbeat.
Take breaks: Don’t work too hard all the time. You may think it’s good, but you’ll get stressed out. Instead, sit back for a few minutes here and there, and breathe.
Being productive comes from you. If you don’t have the motivation, and you don’t try hard enough, you will find that it’s going be awfully hard. Follow some of my tips, and I hope it can help you be productive at school, or in your life.
